Oconee County, Georgia is a beautiful county situated just south of Athens and the University of Georgia. Progressive Farmer magazine’s February 2009 issue cites Oconee County as the 7th Best County to Raise a Family in the United States, and Oconee County was cited as the #1 County in the whole southeastern United States to raise a family.
